St. Louis rapper Nelly has expressed his interest in television stating that he wants to launch a talk show that speaks from the pop culture perspective. Last year there was talk of him starting a variety show titled Nelly’s Night In Vegas which would have featured Nelly’s own house band, celebrity performances, and guest appearances.
Nelly and the rest of his Ocean’s 7 crew composed of Jermaine Dupri, Trey Songz, Johnta Austin, Brian Michael Cox and Tyrone “International” Davis are working on their all male talk show which is said to be similar to the ABC television show The View.
“We’re working on kind of like the male version of The View. We’re working on that. You ever seen that movie called The Ugly Truth? You know how the guy had his show; well we’re working on that. I’m starting to do more now, but I wanted to do stuff that made sense to me. I had a lot of offers and a lot of things that probably could’ve been cool, but I turned it down because I felt I wasn’t ready yet. I never want to disrespect the culture and the thing that is acting, thinking just because I’m Nelly, I’m going to transition and be good at it.”
In other news, Nelly is working on his sixth studio album due out sometime this year which will feature artists including Kelly Rowland for Dilemma (Pt. 2), St. Lunatics, Diddy, Janet Jackson, and many more.
