What you know about court cases? A month after being released from jail to a halfway house, T.I. is back in the hot seat.
Radar Online reports that the Atlanta rap giant is being sued for copyright infringement by a Los Angeles-based rapper named Motoe Blizzid.
Blizzid, born Nathan Filby, claims that Tip stole his 2004 song “Reverence” and used pieces of it to create his 2006 Grammy-award-winning hit, “What You Know.” Filby alleges he gave his song to several industry insiders, including Relentless Management, who he believes handed the track to T.I.
Filby has requested to a trial by jury and is seeking any damages and the surrender of all profits earned from the song.
Tip, who is currently serving out the remainder of his 366-day sentence on federal gun charges in an Atlanta halfway house, has yet to comment on the accusations.
