Soulja Boy has denied reports that he is currently on probation as a result of his fall 2009 arrest in southeast Georgia.
During an interview with BET, the Crank That rapper set the record straight, and said that when he reported to court he was only hit with a fine, not probation.
“I just want to let everybody know that I didn’t get probation,” Soulja Boy said.
“That was like a news blast that was everywhere. I know there’s like 12 months probation going around, but I just want to let all my fans know that I ain’t got no record. I ain’t got no probation or nothing. I did go to court, but I just had to pay a fine so I’m not on probation.”
Soulja, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was arrest in October 7 of last year for obstruction of a police officer and was released on bond.
According to reports, he and several other teenagers were inside of a home in McDonough, Georgia shooting a music video. Officers, who responding to complaints from neighbors, raided the home. They came across 40 people, who all fled on foot.
Soulja Boy ran, but was arrested after he came back to the house.
