K. Michelle has emerged as a breakout star on VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” Now the Memphis songstress turns the spotlight on her music with her new “Day in the Life” series. At the end of last season, she locked herself in the studio and started recording her Atlantic Records debut Rebellious Soul.

She documents the process in the seven webisodes, premiering exclusively on HIPHOPUCIT.com starting next week. In the trailer, she explains why she is a “rebel with a cause” and makes music with T.I.

“This project means everything to me,” says K. “A lot of people counted me out, a lot of people call me ratchet, and yes I can be ratchet. But I’m a ratchet musician. I’m a person who lives, loves, and breathes everything music. I was determined that with this project people were gonna understand that music is still alive and I was determined with this project that people were gonna finally see me for more than just a crazy, ratchet reality star.”

But don’t expect her to tone it down.

“No one will tame me, ever, never, and it won’t begin on this album.”

Season 2 of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on VH1.
