In January, English rapper K Koke was on top of the world having just been signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint and poised to make a splash here in the United States.

A rapper on the brink of international stardom after being signed by Jay Z has been charged with attempted murder.

Kevin Georgiou, known as ‘K Koke’, has been remanded in custody accused of shooting a man in the back at Harlesden train station on March 9.

The 25-year-old, who signed to the US music mogul’s record label Roc Nation in January, was arrested after officers from British Transport Police (BTP) raided his home last week.

He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody after appearing before City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court last Saturday. Georgiou will make his next appearance at Blackfriars Crown Court on June 15.

He is the fifth person to be charged in connection with the shooting of the 27-year-old.

The victim had travelled to the borough from south London to take part in a football project in the pavilion in Stonebridge.

He was rushed to hospital after he shot in the back in the foyer of the station and has since been discharged.

A 16-year-old girl, two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old youth are also accused of attempted murder.

All four have remanded to appear at West London Youth Court on April 13.

A 20-year-old who was also arrested in connection with the shooting has been bailed to return to a police station later this month.
