Earlier this year, R&B singer Fantasia hoped to make a comeback to the music scene like many other celebrities that star in their own reality shows. In January, she inked a deal with VH1 to televise her own reality show which revolved around her struggle to balance her career and personal life. The show started off successful with 2.3 million viewers its first night but slipped to 800,000 by March but VH1 recently decided to give the show another try as the second season will premiere later this year.

The purpose of the first season of Fantasia For Real was to address rumors that were spread about the singer and give an inside look into her and her family’s life.

“It wasn’t VH1’s idea to do a show. I pitched it to them in 2008 because there was a lot going on with everyone from blogs to comedians commenting on my life.”

The second season of Fantasia For Real will pick up with Fantasia working to repair her relationship with her brother Teeny, promoting for her upcoming third album, getting her GED, and breaking away from being the sole provider for her family.

Fantasia’s third album is rumored to release next month but has yet to receive a title. The first single for the album, Even Angels, released to the internet back in February.
