While Kanye West severed his ties with Nike, Drake is saying just do it. The Canadian rapper has inked a deal with the company’s Jordan Brand division.
While in Nike’s headquarters of Portland, Oregon for his “Would You Like a Tour?” on Tuesday, he made the announcement onstage.
“Today also happens to be one of the best days of my life,” said Drake. “You know, growing up, I’m sure we all idolized this guy. He goes by the name of Michael Jordan. So today I came to Portland and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family.”
He also posted pics of their first collaborations including OVO Stingray 10s and 12s on his Instagram account. It’s unknown if and when the shoes will hit the market.
Kanye’s deal with Nike came to an end after they refused to give him royalties on his popular Yeezy collection. He has since signed a deal with adidas.
