Birdman is opening the vault to the Cash Money empire in his upcoming Apple Music documentary, Before Anythang: The Story Behind The Cash Money Records Empire.

In a reflective trailer for the film, Baby shares insight on his childhood and upbringing.

“As a kid, I saw it all,” he explains. “Everything went down on the block. Growing up in these streets, watching a lot of my partners die and go to the penitentiary, made me want to do something different in life. So I chose music and started Cash Money Records.”

Executive produced and narrated by Brian “Birdman” Williams himself, the documentary is also set to explore many of the pivotal moments in his life, including his mother’s passing and his legal troubles. It also features interviews with friends and relatives, who describe his come-up from the streets of New Orleans to the global powerhouse of Cash Money.

Before Anythang marks the first production from Cash Money Films and will be available exclusively on Apple Music starting Feb. 16. To go along with the movie, the label is also unveiling a soundtrack, which will feature the previously-released Jacquees and DeJ loaf single “At the Club.”
