Tashera Simmons, separated wife of troubled rapper DMX, links up with extraordinary author Aliya S. King for a book about her life as a successful music artists’ wife. King is known for writing exclusive tell-all’s for R&B singer Faith Evans and infamous ex-drug lord Frank Lucas, and she recently released a novel entitled Platinum.

Tashera tells HipHopDX how she and Aliya formed their partnership, saying: “When I first met Aliya, I was in a state where I was trapped and she was the first person that kind of opened me up. She started asking me questions about what it was like to be in the light of a super star, rap star.”

“I told her I am working on my book, Strength Of A Woman, and she told me to read, Platinum, and tell me what you think.’ It touched me, she’s writing my book now.”   While speaking to AllHipHop, Tashera Simmons explains: “It’s not a tell-all, I want to clear that up. It’s a memoir, it’s a story about our life, my life, and our life together. My side of the story, because I feel like in his book, he didn’t really get into detail to better explain it…I think reading my book it explains everything. I’m talking about everything, from when we first met at 11 and we got together at 18 and I’m starting from there until then on…It’s a positive tell all. I’m gonna keep it 100% real, I’m more classy than [to say negative facts] if you read from the beginning to up until the point it gets crazy, you’ll kind of understand the whole story…There’s so many rumors out there, I haven’t filed [for divorce] yet, but we are separated. We are separated, it’s 20 years [we’ve been together].”

Confirmation of the autobiographical style book was made earlier this year when a representative of Tashera said, “The book will be entitled Strength Of Women. She will be talking about her experiences with her family and trying to hold them together through DMX’s journey.”

“Her story is a stellar, heart wrecking, powerful, firsthand account of survival and family strength in a chaotic life and the fame that came with that life,” the representative of Simmons continued.

Further, after completing a six month bid for probation violation, DMX is hoping to replenish his career. He has been working in the studio since his recent release on July 6th.
