After six weeks, a jury has reached a verdict in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor. Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The King of Pop’s family including parents Katherine and Joe and siblings Randy and La Toya were present as the verdict was read. A female voice shrieked in the courtroom and fans cheered outside.

The seven-man, five-woman jury panel determined that the cardiologist was responsible for the pop icon’s death.

Murray was handcuffed at the defense table and taken into custody without bail. He will be sentenced on November 29 and faces up to four years in prison.

Jackson died in June 2009 at the age of 50 after receiving a fatal dose of the anesthetic propofol, which Murray administered to help him sleep.

Jackson’s sister La Toya is adamant the fight for justice isn’t over, writing,

“Thank you everyone for your love and support! It will always be appreciated! Michael I love you and I will continue to fight until all are brought to justice!”

The late singer’s nephew Jermaine La Jaune Jackson, Jr. writes,

“Today I joined my family in court and was deeply moved by your presence. Thank you all for your continuos (sic) love, loyalty, and support. Strong victory in court!… Step one has been accomplished! We are ready for next!!”

Sharon Osbourne was also ecstatic at the conclusion, writing,

“Conrad Murray guilty. Finally justice. Hopefully this will stop all the other Dr. Feel Good Star F**kers.”

Other stars also took the opportunity to mourn the King of Pop’s death, with Minaj writing,

“People are cheering but there really are no winners here. This has been an utter tragedy from beginning to end. RIP Michael Jackson.”

LL Cool J writes, “MJ RIP,” while actress Holly Robinson Peete comments,

“Do you think this guilty Conrad Murray verdict will bring closure? I hope Michael Jackson’s soul can just get a rest…”

Nick Cannon remarks, “Dr. Conrad Murray is guilty of involuntary manslaughter. There you have it,” and CNN newsman Piers Morgan adds, “Conrad Murray didn’t deliberately kill Michael Jackson, but his negligent actions allowed the death to occur.”
