In a last ditch attempt to prevent T.I. from serving 11 more months in prison for violating the terms of his parole, a mystery group filed legal documents last Thursday (October 21) asking the court to place the southern rapper in rehab.

Identifying themselves as the “Citizens of the State of Atlanta Georgia,” they defended Tip and asserted that

“taxpayer’s money ought not to be wasted to pay the expense to incarcerate a Defendant at the whelm of a Probation Officer and/or an Assistant U.S. Attorney, when, as in this case, other appropriate remedies are available as an alternative to incarceration.”

T.I. was arrested with his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle on September 1 in Los Angeles, California after the car they were in was pulled over by police for making an illegal u-turn. He was in possession of Ecstasy at the time and later failed a drug test. During a hearing about the violations, his lawyers admitted that the rapper had relapsed following several dental procedures earlier in the year.

When TMZ.com contacted the MC’s attorneys, they denied knowing who is behind the documents. There are no plans to appeal the judge’s ruling and T.I. still has about a week to turn himself into authorities to begin serving his sentence
