Beyoncé already wears the crown when it comes to music, but now she’s playing a queen on screen. The pop icon rules over the forest as Queen Tara in 20th Century Fox’s animated 3D film Epic.

“I’ve always imagined being in an animated film. I’ve always wanted to be a queen,” said B. “Queen Tara is very important in Epic. She’s preserved the beauty of her natural world and the safety of her people.”

The fantasy-adventure film, which co-stars Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell, and Aziz Ansari, follows the battle between good and evil in the forest.

“Everything in this movie is big—the action, the characters. This is one time where the film really lives up to its title,” explained Beyoncé.
