New York Jets rookie Geno Smith planning on remaining “humble” despite signing to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.
The roster of talent at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports continues to grow with the announcement of New York Jets quarterback and NFL rookie Geno Smith as the newest signee to the management firm. According to XXLMag.com, Smith will serve as the third athlete to be signed to the firm, which launched in early April.
“I think it’s just [Jay-Z’s] agency,” said Smith while speaking on his signing “When you talk about being in New York from a standpoint of what they can do in the city, the connections that they have, I think it’s a good move. My mother and my family is comfortable with it, I’m comfortable with it. I’m just going to move on from there, not let it be a big deal, remain humble and keep focusing on football.”
Smith, a former West Virginia University athlete, was selected by the New York Jets during the second round of this year’s NFL draft.
He will join the likes of New York Yankees player Robinson Cano and WNBA star Skylar Diggins, who was recently gifted with a Mercedes Benz from the agency, as a Roc Nation Sports signee.
On top of their growing athletic roster, Roc Nation also represents a variety of talent including Rihanna, J. Cole, and Bridget Kelly.
