Wendy Williams wants to share the spotlight that has her at the top of the daytime TV  food chain through the “Be Wendy’s Co-Host for the Day” contest.  The daytime talk show diva has invited her “biggest fans” to submit videotaped auditions via her website to win a chance to join her on her self-titled show.

“The Wendy Williams Show” website says that Williams is looking for someone original, creative, fun and Wendyish.  Each of five lucky winners will be assigned a day in the week of May 9, 2011, to co-host the popular show. The deadline is a mystery, but, with the winners taping in less than two weeks, anyone interested in auditioning should not delay.

Today, she shared clips from three audition videos that included an African American woman whose tape included a cheering audience and an African American couple who recently reunited after a divorce in order to raise their children together.

Also, on today’s show, Williams presented “The Wendettas,” an African American dance troupe from Queens, N.Y., who attend a performing arts school in Harlem together and who are devoted Wendy fans. According to the lead dancer-spokesperson, the 10 teen girls have been winning dance competitions around the country. Five girls started the performance with ballet, and the other five switched it to hip-hop moves. Williams surprised them all with tickets to the Broadway play, Alice in Wonderland, and they were ecstatic.

On today’s show, in honor of the royal wedding of England’s Prince William and Kate Middleton, the show will feature an extravagant royal theme that Williams assures will be fun for all
