50 Cent celebrated the launch of his hi-fidelity headphones, SYNC by 50, at Jimmy at The James Hotel in Manhattan last night. The G-Unit mogul, who serves as CEO of SMS Audio, suited up for the occasion, explaining why he decided to develop a competitor to Dr. Dre’s Beats by Dre.
“I want people to hear music the way I hear it initially,” 50 told TechCrunch.
At the event, he also spoke about signing “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D to his pop label G-Note Records.
“I call him ‘the bridge,’” the rapper told Rolling Stone. “He’s going to be something between what you would get from a DJ Khaled or a DJ Drama and what you would get from David Guetta.”
50 will release his new mixtape The Big 10 on Friday to mark the 10-year anniversary of 50 Cent Is the Future.
