2 Chainz paid a visit to “Wendy” for the first time for a performance and interview on Thursday’s show. The bespectacled rapper performed a clean version of his hit “Birthday Song” and spoke about his success.

“I’m just blessed to be in this position,” he told Wendy. “2 Chainz, it can mean two necklaces or it can mean this is my second chance, my second go around. All my prayers are just being answered right now.”

He also addressed his misogynist lyrics and promoted his Respect My Vote campaign.

“Once you become a felon, it’s not over,” said the former felon, who voted for the first time in 2008. “Do what you need to do to get to the polls ’cause our voice, we need to be heard this year.”

When he found out that his album was No. 1 on the charts, 2 Chainz went straight to the studio.

“Everybody gets their 15 minutes of fame and sometimes you can shorten it by celebrating too much. I’m trying to extend mine.”

He returned later in the program to perform “I’m Different” off his chart-topping album Based on a T.R.U. Story.
