Rick Ross isn’t the only boss bringing his talents to Atlantic Records. His rival Young Jeezy has partnered with the label on his new venture CTE World.
The Atlanta rapper was previously named Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic. In his position, he will find, develop, and launch the careers of new talent.
One artist who won’t be making the move with him is former CTE signee Freddie Gibbs.
“Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures,” said Jeezy in a statement. “I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career.”
The new imprint will operate under Jeezy’s direction in conjunction with Atlantic Chairman Craig Kallman.
“This is a fresh start for the CTE brand as we re-launch it,” said the Snowman. “This is why I chose to wipe the slate clean and create an outlet to support and nurture new artists to the best of my ability.”
To celebrate the announcement, Young Jeezy will drop his new mixtape It’s Tha World on Wednesday.
