WTF Of The Week: Soulja Boy Blasted For Codeine Photos

Codeine has been getting extra attention following Lil Wayne’s hospitalization. Now Soulja Boy is making headlines after posting pictures of himself with the cough syrup.

The glamorized images, which were published on his Instagram account, show the 22-year-old rapper dining with a bag full of codeine bottles. “make that work, work. make the shit flip,” he wrote.

He received thousands of messages from irate fans.

“what about some of the kids that actually look up to u??? U should at least try to be a good example. Drug abuse is NOT cool!! U are wayeee smarter then this.. smh praying for u cause god forbid u overdose,” wrote one of his concerned followers, while another put it more bluntly.

“You are such an idiot,fame take over your bird brain…..DUMB ASS,” said the commenter.

Lil Wayne was hospitalized after he reportedly overdosed on the painkiller, which has become popular in the hip-hop community. Weezy, Future, and Drake have all made reference to the drug known as “sizzurp” in their songs.
