Apparently two Emmy’s and millions of dollars aren’t enough to make Tyra Banks stick around. The talk show diva just announced that this upcoming season will be her last.
“This will be the last season of The Tyra Show,” Banks tells People magazine. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years.”
The fifth season will wrap up in the spring of 2010, but it’s not the end of Tyra. She will focus on the launch of Bankable Studios, a N.Y.-based film production company
currently reviewing possible projects. Speaking of her new project, Banks says it aims to “bring positive images of women to the big screen,” says an industry insider.
“My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are,” Banks says.
Sounds like someone’s following in Oprah’s footsteps. And any step Oprah takes is a profitable one. Good for you Tyra! We were over the random period episodes she’s been having lately, so it’s a great time to throw in the towel.
