Trick Daddy and Trina are reunited and it feels so good. The Slip-N-Slide duo has announced that they are joining forces for a new joint project due to arrive this year.

“Yesterday me and Trina signed a deal for a Trick & Trina collabo album,”

Trick told Mass Appeal.

“So we bringing the city back. I just want this Trick & Trina record to be classic. I’m going to turn the Diamond Princess back to the Baddest Bitch.”

Trick said he was drawn to this project by a sense of regional pride.

“ATL doesn’t have a sound no more. Miami doesn’t have a sound no more. New York doesn’t have a sound no more,” he explained. “With the exception of Remy Ma & Fat Joe, I don’t remember the last time I heard a real New York record. With the exception of the Migos, I don’t remember the last time I heard an Atlanta record. Miami has a couple artists doing things like Pitbull and Flo-Rida, but we need to take it back to those days, because if it wasn’t for DJ Khaled, I don’t know if our name and face would even still be mentioned or placed in a hall of fame.”

The collaborative album will arrive via Slip-N-Slide and Atlantic Records.

“[The collaboration album is] just something the fans always wanted, and now we’re officially going to make it happen,” said SNS CEO Ted Lucas. “Trick put Miami on the map with gangsta music, which was different from all perspectives. When Miami was known for booty shaking, Trick was able to change the culture of what people thought about of Miami music, and Trina was able to put female rappers on the map. We’re excited about it, and looking forward to it.”

The Miami duo first teamed up on “Nann N***a” off Trick’s 1999 album www.thug.com. Over the years, they’ve joined forces on cuts like “Frikitona,” “Tonight,” “I Don’t Need U,” “Off the Chain With It,” and perhaps most famously on “Shut Up.”

Trick Daddy hasn’t dropped an album since 2009’s Finally Famous: Born a Thug, Still a Thug, while Trina’s last album was 2010’s Amazin’. However, that’s about to change with the release of her sixth album in April.

Executive produced by Rico Love, the project is set to feature Tory Lanez, 2 Chainz, Boosie Badazz, Plies, Kelly Price, and her ex Lil Wayne.
