The hip-hop and art worlds collide in Jay Z’s performance art film for “Picasso Baby,” the Timbaland-produced single off his No. 1 album Magna Carta…Holy Grail.

The Roc Nation mogul shot the visuals at Pace Gallery in New York earlier this month. Spectators including Judd Apatow, Alan Cumming, and the “grandmother of performance art” Marina Abramović gathered around as he took turns interacting with them in the all-white space.

“Concerts are pretty much performance art,” explains Jay, who is currently playing stadiums on his “Legends of the Summer” tour. “In a smaller venue, it’s a big more intimate so you feel the energy of the people.”

Jay Z will appear on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Friday, August 2, at 10 p.m. followed by the premiere of “Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film” at 11 p.m.
