Trae Tha Truth and J. Cole take it to the streets in “Children of Men,” the latest single off the Houston rapper’s 2015 LP Tha Truth.

Cole World kicks things off over soulful production, rhyming about a “heartless” killer’s thought process and background. Then, Trae takes over with storytelling depth, revealing a detailed narrative about drugs, the prison system, and suicide. Ink ties it all together with an emotional and inspired hook.

The black-and-white video, which seems like it was filmed more than a year ago based on Cole’s appearance, follows the track’s grim storyline.

While “Children of Men” comes off last year’s Tha Truth, the Houston MC also released Tha Truth Pt. 2 earlier this month. The sequel doesn’t feature Jermaine, but it does include appearances by Rick Ross, T.I., Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, Quentin Miller, Young Thug, and Yo Gotti, among others.
