T.I. is scheduled to appear on Larry King Live this Thursday (May 13) at 9 p.m. Eastern Time to discuss his recent incarceration for federal weapons charges, amongst other things. The emcee will sit down with the CNN host and answer his questions as well as take questions from fans. This is his first major interview since being released from prison.
The federal charges stemmed from an incident where T.I. was caught attempting to purchase machine guns and silencers in October 2007 prior to the B.E.T. Awards. He took a plea deal that allowed him to escape a possible mandatory ten year sentence and was given a year in prison, house arrest, and 1,500 hours of community service.
Tip will release his seventh studio album, King Uncaged, on August 17 via Grand Hustle/Atlantic Records. Collaborations with R&B singers The-Dream and Trey Songz, and producers DJ Toomp, Danja, The Runners, TrackSlayerz, Drumma Boy, and Just Blaze have reportedly made the cut. The first single for the LP, I’m Back, was released earlier this year and debuted at the number 44 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In promotion of the project, T.I. will also release a DJ Drama-hosted mixtape titled F*ck A Mixtape.
