A few months back, Swizz Beatz created the beat for a sequel to Eminem’s classic single Stan. He presented it to the Detroit rapper for placement on his 2009 Relapse LP, but Em didn’t want to revisit the song and passed on it. Now the track, which is titled Anne, will be featured on the producer’s own forthcoming album titled Haute Living, with some help from Lil Wayne.
Talking about the song with MTV News, Swizz says that the last time he did an interview about the track, “there was a lot of controversy…[and] things got out of hand in the media.” But he went back into the studio and re-worked the song with Weezy so that it features the New Orleans rapper picking up where Em left off.
“What I have on my album is a song called Anne with Wayne, which is crazy,” said Swizz. “To connect the story of what we saying with Snoop, taking something that people remember and putting them in that time and taking it to the next level, the way that Wayne tells Anne he’s sorry what happened to Stan. The album is crazy.”
Haute Living is scheduled to be released later this year and will reportedly feature collaborations with Drake, Coldplay, John Legend, Jay-Z, and T.I., thus far.
