What’s your background?
I grew up coming back and forth from London to Sheerness my whole life, my dad worked in london and lots of my family live there, so I found myself there a lot but even more so when I started networking in the industry, my grandmother is originally from Islington (North London) but moved to Sheerness about 30 years ago as she felt it would be a better place to raise her family and that’s how I ended up there, I feel like both places are my home really.
What got you into music?
My dad would always play music around me since I was a baby, from nirvana to Jimmy Hendrix, when I was 6, my dad took me to what was then ‘the millennium dome’ (now O2 arena) to see ‘Public Enemy’ live, by the time I was about 8, I discovered ‘NWA’ and bought their greatest hits compilation, by the time I was 10 my dad took me to see 50 cent in concert fir my 10th birthday, my main influences overall though are wiz Khalifa, curren$y and Mac Miller (RIP) but yeah I’ve always been into music especially hip hop and reggae and definitely got my dad to thank for that
How long has music been a part of your life?
Since forever, I started making music when I was about 11 after my dad bought me a recording software and a microphone, after being so heavily influenced by music as a kid I knew it was my calling and it was no surprise to my family when I started attempting to produce my own music and write my own lyrics at the easy impressionable age of 10
If it wasn’t for music, where would you be now?
Sounds cliche but I’d probably be dead, music has helped me in unexplainable ways over the years, at some points literally being the only thing that got me out of bed in the morning or I’d be working a dead end job kicking myself for not chasing my dreams
How did you come to realize that music was the way forward for you?
When strangers started approaching me in the street and my whole borough was either blasting my music or hating me for it, they was still aware either way and it became insane at one point, then especially after getting signed and touring the country, I saw numerous outcomes that told me music is definitely the path for me
If you had to sacrifice one skill, which would you least like to let go, and why?
Singing, singing is life, if you’re feeling down, put one of your favourite songs on and sing it loud, I bet you’ll feel better!
Where is your career heading? What’s the vision?
I always wanted to put out a mixtape based on a film, as the ‘KIDS’ mixtape by Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Burn After Rolling’ mixtape are both based on films and literally sound like a soundtrack, those 2 tapes always inspired me so much growing up, I always wanted to recreate the same thing with my own twist and style and I always wanted to tour the U.K., with both things ticked off the list after touring the U.K. independently on the ‘London To Sheerness tour’ followed by the release of the ‘London To Sheerness’ mixtape, now that’s done, it’s time to tour the WORLD and start working on a album!
