Skylar Grey finds strength in her insecurities in the Jay Martin-directed video for “Invisible,” the first single from her KIDinaKORNER/Interscope debut Invinsible. In the dark visuals, the singer-songwriter walks dangerously close to the edge of a high-rise, plays in traffic, and sets herself on fire, but still feels like no one notices her.

“I wanted it to be Peter Parker by day meets Spider-Man by night,” explained Skylar. “An everyday kid who isn’t really that cool, but there’s something else going on that people don’t know about. That’s kind of the journey that I went on. I discovered that my insecurities and my flaws were things that I actually need to embrace, and I let them become my superpowers.”

Skylar’s debut has been delayed from November to January.

“There are some things that I wanted to add to the album, but I haven’t had time because I’ve been traveling so much,” she told Rap-Up. “So I just need a minute to do more of that and come back and finish the album properly.”
