Many “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans have noted the tension between Apollo Nida and Phaedra Parks this season, and things may get worse before they get better, now that Apollo has been arrested.
The husband and father of two appeared in court Thursday to face charges of fraud and identity theft, several news outlets report.
According to an affidavit obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Apollo is suspected of creating fake companies, which granted him access to many people’s personal information. He’s accused of using that information to steal their identities, open accounts and rip them off.
“’He opened fake bank accounts under those real names and funneled stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into those accounts,” the complaint reportedly reads.
Gayla St. Julian is named as Apollo’s alleged partner in crime. She is accused of going into the banks and pretending to be the individuals whose identities were cloned by Apollo
According to The Daily Mail, Apollo was granted bail on Thursday after appearing in the U.S. District Court.
The AJC reports that Gayla, who “described herself as Nida’s right-hand b!t_h”, recorded her conversations with Apollo in which he explained the schemes.
This is not the first time Apollo’s been in trouble with the law. He was imprisoned from 2004 to 2009 for auto title fraud. Apollo and Phaedra have been accused of shady dealings in the past, but Phaedra, an attorney, has denied the allegations.
