While you were toasting to 2014, music’s biggest stars were providing the soundtrack to New Year’s Eve. Following a whirlwind year, Miley Cyrus took over New York City’s Times Square for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” Wearing a long white fur coat and sequined gold attire, the pop star performed “#GETITRIGHT” and “Wrecking Ball” with a little person and her band.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis capped off an epic 2013 with performances of their hits “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us.”

“New Years 2014. Times Square. Rapping to the world… A fitting end to the year I could have never dreamed of,” tweeted Macklemore.

Robin Thicke delivered his mega-hit “Blurred Lines,” Jennifer Hudson powered through her new single “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel),” and Jason Derulo performed his Jordin Sparks-inspired song “Marry Me.”

Ariana Grande was joined by Big Sean for a performance of “Right There,” while Pitbull kept the celebration going with “Don’t Stop the Party” and “Timber.”

Over on “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly,” Mariah Carey kicked off 2014 with a medley of her hits. Perched on a rooftop overlooking NYC, the pop diva ran through “Fantasy,” “Honey,” “Always Be My Baby,” “We Belong Together,” and more. Later in the program, she performed her new single “The Art of Letting Go.”
