Los Angeles native Nipsey Hussle is making a name for himself as he has performed along with Snoop Dogg at BET’s Hip Hop Awards and was also featured on Snoop’s latest album.

Nipsey Hussle has even been featured in major publications such as the New York Times and was nominated for XXL’s annual Freshmen 10 list along with other upcoming Hip Hop artists. He also appeared on the updated version of Michael Jackson’s We Are The World track which was a charity song dedicated to the earthquake victims of Haiti.
The Left Coast rapper recently inked a deal with BMI and through that venture they will focus on managing his music for play on TV, radio, movies and more and will collect all royalties due to Nipsey. He will be joining other artists on BMI’s label such as pop singers Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera.

Currently Nipsey Hussle is working on his debut album titled South Central State Of Mind, which features beats from producers such as Justice League, Cool & Dre, J.R. Rotem and more. The album’s single Feelin Myself features R&B singer Lloyd. There hasn’t been a set release date for the album as of now.

“I’ma be discussing my album in detail. The shit is coming out crazy! This has been in the works my whole life. I feel like everything leading up to this point has been the warm up. I gave the streets over 60 records this year once I drop Vol. 3. So, for the album I had to really dig deep and format it different from my mixtape series but at the same time keep it hood. I would say I’m about 60% done with album.”
