It’s finally here. Nicki Minaj debuts “Pills N Potions,” the first single off her upcoming third album The Pink Print, and it’s just what the doctor ordered. After street records like “Yass Bish!!” and “Chi-Raq,” the rap queen delivers a heart-wrenching love ballad, produced by Dr. Luke (“Va Va Voom”) and co-written by Ester Dean.

“Pills n potions / We’re overdosing / I’m angry, but I still love you,” she sings on the hook.

“It feels very uplifting and it feels very soulful,” Nicki told says. “It’s a great, I feel, indicator of what The Pink Print will feel like in terms of the storyline of that song.”

The follow-up to 2012′s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, due later this year, marks a return to her roots.

“The Pink Printwill remind people why they fell in love with Nicki Minaj,” she said. “And I think that needs to be done.”
