Harlem-raised battle rapper Murda Mook declares his lust for Nicki Minaj on a new remix of her latest single “Only,” featuring Lil WayneDrake and Chris Brown, which he’s dubbed “Only Nicki.” The cover art is a photo of he and Minaj back in 2008.

“I mean if they gonna talk about how they wanted to hit it, I wanted to hit it before them,”

he declares in his intro, before launching into his verse.

“I shoulda f**ked Nicki when I had the chance back in ’08 in those come-up days,” he raps, reminiscing about the days before she “met Wayne” and “got paid.” He talks about running into the femcee on the train in Queens and how she is different from “other hoes.” Then he starts to get into some x-rated material.

The best line comes when he makes a reference to her rumored-to-be-fake booty.

“I don’t care what they say, baby / Only worried about me / ‘Cause a real n***a don’t give a fuck if it’s fake, baby.”

It all culminates with then line,

“I’ll be damned if Drake and Wayne hit before I do,” before another woman comes in and starts yelling at him for fantasizing about the YMCMB rapper.

Mook spoke with AllHipHop about the remix and his history with Minaj. He explains that they used to chill together back in the day back when they were both gaining momentum in their careers.

“When I first heard [‘Only’], I thought it was real clever,” he told them. “‘Cause it’s a way that people could tell the truth but truth in a jest type thing. When I heard the record I was like, ‘Yo I gotta do this right now.’ …The record is hot and it’s genius because Drake and Lil Wayne really meant what they were saying. They could say, ‘Well it’s just a song,’ but you know I feel like they meant that.”

He goes on to explain that Minaj gave him permission to “go in” on the song.

“She knows me. Like she’s known me for a while now and knows what kind of person I am. She’s cut from the same cloth as me as far as lyrical and hip-hop, meaning she’s going to say whatever she feel like sayin’.”

He references her song “Dreams,” in which she says Mook would have to battle to hook up with her. He says his verse on “Only” is in that same vein of playfulness.
