Four years since her tragic death, Amy Winehouse is the subject of a new documentary entitled Amy.
Directed by Senna filmmaker Asif Kapadia and produced by Exit Through the Gift Shop‘s James Gay-Rees, the heartbreaking film features unheard recordings, archival footage, and personal home movies of the British songstress, with commentary from those who knew her best. In the new 2:15 trailer, we see clips of a shy girl who went from budding star to global sensation.
“I don’t think I’m gonna be at all famous,” says a young Amy. “I’m not a girl tryna be a star. I’m just a girl that sings.”
Amy is set to premiere in the U.K. on July 3.
