Hip Hop don Rick Ross has been dominating the rap industry for quite some time now. His new Maybach Music Group [MMG] label has been signing artists who are becoming extremely popular including fairly new signed rap artist Meek Mill, Wale and other well-known artists like singer Omarion. The high demand label has everyone wanting to hear more. So how did Rick Ross even come about? Rick Ross hails originally from Mississippi but grew up near Miami, FL. The city of Miami has been the beginning of a few mainstream artists like female rapper Trina. Ross began working with Slip N Slide artist Trick Daddy and began to put his own music out and has been become successful since then. After putting out album after album, he realized that he was becoming a household name. His latest album, God Forgives, I Don’t has created a huge buzz and has sold hundreds of thousands of copies. Earlier this year, Rick Ross was named the “Hottest MC In The Game” and that’s not a title that gets thrown around. Ricky Ross “The Boss” is here to stay and will continue to dominate the industry. Even though his past proved him to be a correctional officer, he continued to make the music he identified with. When that information leaked, it later created controversy with other artists, along with “Freeway” whom he attained his name from, he still proclaimed himself to be as original as possible. As we approach the 2013 year, he still has not allowed the media or any other artist dictate who he is or what he will become.

If anyone embodies what true Hip Hop really is, it is definitely Rick Ross. His raunchy, yet smooth and alluring songs like “Diced Pineapples” reel his female fans in, while the easy going songs like “3 Kings” featuring Jay Z and Dr. Dre attract both sexes. The “biggest boss that we’ve seen thus far” sets himself apart from most and is able to adapt to the way the generation constantly changes and markets himself appropriately. Adding the Philadelphian Meek Mill and DC born Wale was a smart business decision. Meek Mill is a tough, hungry artist and because he was new to the MMG label after things didn’t work with Grand Hustle records, it meant he had a ton of material to drop off. He has now dropped project after project along with Wale, creating hit after hit with several relevant artists. Rick Ross is creating an empire and will have a legacy left once he isn’t able to make music anymore, but for now, no one and nothing is holding him back. October 14, 2011 Rick Ross’ health was put in major danger when he suffered two seizures in one day.  He was in critical condition but he pulled through just fine. Regardless of that frightening moment, he still continues to work at his music along with his MMG team. Similarly to Meek Mill’s album, they are all Dreamchasers and they are knocking down any barrier that may come their way.

Defeating negativity, what is Ricky Rozay doing now? Only time can tell, but it is for sure something that will keep the fans off their feet and fully tuned in. “Free” @InkStains22
