Beyoncé wasn’t the only one to get the stage wet and wild at the BET Awards.

Smooth crooner Maxwell came in with a late-broadcast performance of “Lake by the Ocean,” emerging with an umbrella as rain crashed down on him. The singer, dressed to the nines in a dapper three-piece suit, stripped off his jacket and sunglasses midway through a rendition of the song, the lead single off his upcoming album black SUMMERS’ night, releasing July 1.

On top of that, he joined in on the Prince tribute train, segueing into a cover of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” originally recorded and written by Prince but made popular by Sinéad O’Connor.
