Fresh off a string of sold-out arena dates, the indefatigable Lil Wayne announced that he is extending his “I Am Still Music” tour throughout the summer. As fans patiently await the release of Tha Carter IV, the second leg of the North American trek is set to begin July 13 at Comcast Theater in Hartford, Conn., crisscrossing the country before ending at Woodlands Amphitheatre in Texas on September 11.
While the first leg focused on arena shows, Wayne and his crew are factoring in the hopeful nice weather and hitting up a series of amphitheatres and pavilions. The Young Money chief loses Travis Barker and his protégé Nicki Minaj, who joins Britney Spears’ “Femme Fatale” outing next month, but keeps Rick Ross around for the second round, adding Keri Hilson, Far East Movement, and Lloyd to the lineup.
In preparation for the 41 dates, Lloyd has been seen practicing taking his shirt off and cooing to random females within earshot on Diddy-Dirty Money’s “Coming Home” tour, while Keri Hilson previously toured with her “Turnin’ Me On” collaborator on the first “I Am Music” run in 2009.
