Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, was scheduled to return to court yesterday morning (January 12) in connection with murder charges that were brought up against him last year but the hearing has been postponed until a later date.
The Louisiana rapper is accused of orchestrating the October 2009 murder of Terry Boyd, 35. According to authorities, he along with Adrian Pittman, 27, Michael Louding, 17, and one other were responsible for the shooting outside of Boyd’s home.
Louding is implicated in at least five other murders including the killing of local rapper Chris “Nussie” Jackson, who had a rap beef with Boosie. Prosecutors are reportedly looking to connect the Trill Entertainment rapper to some of those slayings as well.
Boosie has maintained his innocence since the beginning however and plead not guilty in June of last year in response to the charges.
“He’s not guilty,” said his defense attorney Marcus Allen at the arraignment hearing. “I think he’s absolutely not guilty. I think he meant what he said. He’s absolutely not guilty. We’re just going to prepare for his defense and get ready to address the charges.”
The 27-year-old was already in custody when the charges for violating the terms of his probation when the murder was levied against him. During that time, he also allegedly attempted to run a drug operation out of prison; he, his 25-year-old girlfriend, Walnita Decur, and a couple others are also facing several drug-related charges in connection with that incident.
