After last month’s controversial Aaliyah biopic, Lifetime is set to air its Whitney Houston movie Whitney on the third anniversary of her death. The film, directed by Angela Bassett, chronicles Houston’s life from a choir girl in Newark, New Jersey, to global superstar.
From her rocky relationship with Bobby Brown to her struggles with addiction, the one-minute trailer gives us a peek into the turbulent life of the late legend. Yaya DaCosta (The Butler) stars in the title role, while Arlen Escarpeta plays Brown. Houston’s vocal performances in the film are sung by Deborah Cox.
