The family of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes “surprised” by TLC’s “Waterfalls” remake, express their disappointment.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of TLC’s iconic record “Waterfalls,” both Chilli and T-Boz recently collaborated with Japanese R&B singer Namie Amuro for a new version of the CrazySexyCool song, which noticeably lacks the original verse from Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.

While some may have welcomed the new version of the song, the family of the late rapper is far from pleased about the song’s release. In a statement to TMZ, Left Eye’s sister, HipRock artist Reigndrop Lopes, shared the families shock and disappointment at the song’s release.

“I did not know about it until a fan posted it online. I mean it would have been nice if they would have given us a head up before being surprised,” said Lopes.

Lopes further commented on the song as she spoke on the shock her mother felt upon hearing the song for the first time.

Aside from their newly-released “Waterfalls” remake, the remaining members of TLC are currently working on their fifth studio album. The pair is reportedly working with Drake, Ne-Yo, and J. Cole on the currently untitled album.
