After shooting the video for “Alright” in the Bay Area over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday. The Compton rapper gave a very special performance of “These Walls,” lifted from his chart-topping album To Pimp a Butterfly. As he rapped, a couple danced while an artist painted a portrait of them.
He also spoke about being honored with the California State Senate’s Generational Icon Award and working with Taylor Swift on the remix to “Bad Blood.”
“I’ve always been a fan of hers and she was a fan of my music. She reached out and we got it done,” said K-Dot.
“Bad Blood” jumps to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, earning Kendrick his first No. 1 on the chart.
