Jay Z is facing legal action over allegations he failed to pay employee insurance for his domestic staff.

Executives at the Workers Compensation Board of New York have filed suit against the rapper over claims he failed to pay premiums for his employees, which include drivers, maids and cooks at his home, for three months in 2009.

A court has ordered the hip-hop star to pay $18,000 (£11,250) in fines to for the lapse, and the government agency has now taken action to claim the money, according to Tmz.com.
