Pink wig, thick ass, give ‘em whiplash. Nicki Minaj tore up the stage in a wide-shouldered quilted jacket and high-waisted pants at Power99’s Powerhouse 2010 concert at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Pink Friday. Birthday boy Drake, who turns 24 tomorrow, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Lloyd, Bobby V, and Cali Swag District were also on the bill.
Hip-Hop’s Barbie spoke to Power99’s Shamara about her debut album before taking the stage in front of 20,000 concertgoers.
“If you were a fan when I was doing the mixtapes and the DVDs, don’t feel like you’re not gonna be happy. You are gonna have ample music on the album that you’re gonna absolutely love,” she said. “The album is like an autobiography. It’s very truthful, but it also really shows my growth as an artist and as a writer.”
A tracklisting for Pink Friday should be out in the next couple weeks in advance of the November 22 release date.
