After multiple pushback dates for There Is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service, Brooklyn rapper Fabolous blamed his hectic work schedule for the delay after the anticipated project has been finally released on Thursday (March 4). The mixtape is Fabolous’ follow up to his and DJ Drama’s There Is No Competition that was released in 2008.

Fab stated that he approached this mixtape the same way he would do with an album and that the title is self explanatory.

“Timing was the hardest part, you know I have a very crazy schedule, I have a lot of shows I wanted to take time out and make time to do this album, to do this mixtape, I keep referring to it as an album because that’s what it felt like.”

Fabolous took this mixtape as the perfect opportunity to link up with artists that he has never worked with for his own projects such as Nicki Minaj, Lloyd Banks, Cam’ron, Willie The Kid, and many others.

“I chose the opportunity to work with some of the people I didn’t get to work with before like Nicki and Cam. They make good music, I make good music and you put good music and good music together and you make great music. I think they were helpful in making the mixtape as well, it’s a great project. I put a lot of hard work into it.”

There Is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service was officially released to the internet this past Thursday with 20 straight tracks and there will be a final There Is No Competition coming in the future. Furthermore Fabolous will be working on his sixth studio album called Loso’s Way 2 this year.

For Fabolous, 2010 is about growth and how he can become a better artist and person.

“From the mixtape level to graduating to the album level, now just being able to make good music. Keep stable who I am as an artist, as a person. That was the next step for me in general, in life — evolving as a man. Now there are things I’m evolving in as an artist as well.”
