The 6 God takes over Texas. After surprising fans at the Fader Fort at SXSW in Austin, Drake shut down a Houston city block for J. Prince Jr.’s birthday on Sunday (Mar. 20).

During the block party, Drizzy performed on the roof of Mo Mo’s Chicken & Waffle with his crew in tow. As fans swarmed the restaurant, October’s Very Own broke into “Big Rings” and his remixes of Fetty Wap’s “My Way” and Migos’ “Versace.”

Following his performance, Aubrey went to Instagram and shared a “Prince Family Photo.”

It was a huge turnout for J. Prince Jr., the son of Rap-A-Lot CEO J. Prince. In fact, Houston’s ABC13 reported that around 5,000 people were on hand for the event.

“If u missed out on my block party yesterday you missed out on a movie! @champagnepapi,” said J. Prince Jr.

Drizzy has ties to the Prince family. Last year J. Prince Jr. sued Cash Money, saying that the record label did not pay him adequately for discovering Drake.

In June, J. Prince Jr. spoke about how he found Drizzy on MySpace.

“I ran across all types of artists on there, like Soulja Boy, but Drake was the one that caught my eye,” he told The FADER. “He was ranked number one or two on the unsigned trending artists list. His page just said that his name was Drake and he was from Toronto, and there was a picture of him and he had a video on there for the song ‘Replacement Girl’ with Trey Songz. You know how MySpace had a little radio player on the right side? He had a couple of songs on there, and I was listening to him like, Damn, he’s pretty dope.”
