The Grammys don’t always do hip-hop justice (see this year), so Drake has decided to take things into his own hands and award the first annual “Hood Grammys” in five categories.

October’s Very Own, who won his first Grammy last year for Best Rap Album, took to Instagram on Saturday night to hand out the first golden gramophones in honor of the ‘hood.

Best Vocal Performance of the Year was given to Bobby Shmurda for his inescapable anthem “Hot Ni**a.” “We need it,” said Drake.

It was a tie between Rae Sremmurd’s “No Flex Zone” and Rich Gang’s “Lifestyle” in the category of Best Performance by a Duo or Group.

ATL’s OG Maco won for Best All Around Turn Up for his localanthem “U Guessed It,” which was recently remixed by 2 Chainz.

Drizzy also showed love to his newest signee ILoveMakonnen, who oddly received Best Latin Club Anthem for “Tuesday.”

OVO Sound’s PARTYNEXTDOOR scored the top prize, Mixtape of the Year, for his project PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO.

“Grammy’s need to have a rap year. Run it up,” said Drake.

The nominations for the actual Grammy Awards won’t be announced until December, while the ceremony takes place on February 8, 2015.
