Rapper DMX was arrested in Arizona late Tuesday (March 9) afternoon for violating the terms of his probation. According to authorities, he has been regularly using narcotics during the last nine months.
X, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has been in and out of jail for the last few years, and has faced a lot of legal problems in the state of Arizona in particular. In 2007 in Maricopa County, AZ, authorities raided his home and seized several pit bulls, along with weapons, and marijuana. In 2008, he was arrested for speeding on a Phoenix freeway, and allegedly went to a clinic under a false name to avoid paying.
He is currently on probation for an incident that happened in May of last year, where he threw a meal tray at a jail officer. X was in jail at the time serving a 90 day sentence for drug possession, theft and animal cruelty stemming from the 2007 arrest.
While talking to Reuters, Joe Arpaio, the Maricopa County Sheriff said: “We would hope he that he is finally sent to prison. We’ve arrested him five times already. How many times do you have to violate the law?”
In related news, the troubled rapper’s wife, Tashera Simmons recently revealed plans to release a tell-all book that will discuss her life with the rap star. The book, which is titled Strength Of Woman, currently does not have a release date.
