Chris Brown has entered a rehab facility for anger management issues, a day after being charged with misdemeanor assault.

“Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,” a rep for the singer told E! News on Tuesday. “His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”

According to TMZ, Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, dropped him off at a facility in Malibu accompanied by his mother and girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

Over the weekend, the 24-year-old singer was involved in an altercation outside of the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. He allegedly punched a man in the nose and was charged with misdemeanor assault. He is due back in court on Nov. 25.

The L.A. County probation department has launched an investigation to determine if Brown violated his probation in the Rihanna case by getting arrested in D.C.

Brown flew to L.A. after being released from the D.C. jail and met with L.A. County Probation Department officials on Tuesday.

If the probation department determines that Brown violated his probation, a judge could sentence him to up to four years in prison.

Earlier in the evening, he sent out a message on Twitter:

“In order to go where u have never gone u have to be willing to go where u never been!!!! #OHB! CBE!”

Chris will spend up to three months in a Malibu rehab facility for his anger problems.

“The rehab facility has been told to take him apart and put him back together,” a source tells TMZ.
