Nas album done.

After six years, Nas returns with his long-awaited 11th studio album Nasir. Executive produced by Kanye West, the 7 tracks find Nas rapping about everything from Abraham Lincoln to the Met Gala, with appearances from Puff Daddy and 070 Shake (“Not for Radio”), The-Dream (“everything” and “Adam and Eve”), Tony Williams (“Bonjour”), and Kanye on “everything” and the Slick Rick-sampled “Cops Shot the Kid.”

Like ye and Pusha-T’s Daytona, the album was recorded in the rural mountains of Wyoming.

“Nas sounds like 2028 Nas,” Pusha recently told Angie Martinez. “With Nas particularly, ‘Ye is such a fan that he can pull all the greatest moments in seven songs, and update that energy. He knows how to harness that energy, update that energy beat-wise, and Nas just gets to be him.”

Nas premiered his first album since 2012’s Life Is Good during a listening party on Thursday night in his hometown of Queens. Kanye, Kim Kardashian, Chris Rock, Pusha-T, 2 Chainz, Swizz Beatz, and La La Anthony were among those in attendance. He also launched his own line of merch, a collaboration with Kanye and Cali Thornhill Dewitt, which is now available on shop.nasirjones.com.
