50 Cent may be planning to put an alternative spin on his upcoming album, but according to the G-Unit boss, fans shouldn’t worry because he doesn’t have any plans to leave the rap game.
“I don’t think I’ll retire,” said Fif to North Ireland’s newspaper Telegraph. “I think you should look forward to me going behind the scenes more, [but] I still have passion for music.”
50 also told the newspaper that he felt that the change in the music business is making artists adjust their approach.
“The music business has changed. If you can’t figure out how to develop the brand extension and opportunities that allow you to build the marketing dollar, I don’t see how you can continue to be a superstar.”
In related news, while talking about his upcoming album titled Black Magic, 50 said that the project will dabble more in the dance genre.
“I went to a nightclub, afterparty, and it was a different kind of music going on there a little while before I actually got there. You know they play your music when you come, but the music they played before, they started playing material I created…was more up-tempo, more dance. Black Magic project, I’m excited about it. It has a different vibe, I wont allow myself to be placed in a box where I can only do one style or do one kind of music.”
