Nicki Minaj reported for “Idol” duty during the TCA Winter Press Tour on Tuesday. After attending a Q&A session earlier in the day, the hip-hop diva put on her party dress and headed down to the Fox all-star bash with fellow judges Randy Jackson and Keith Urban. While Mariah Carey was a no-show, a black-haired Nicki made the rounds, mingling with Fox executives and press at the Langham hotel in Pasadena.

“Thank you to the press that came out today, we had a great time,” tweeted an appreciative Nicki.

In an interview with TV Guide, she opened up about her decision to do “Idol.”

“I never thought I would do something like this, because I’m from the hip-hop culture, and I thought it was maybe something that would be frowned upon,” she said. “That’s so scary to me, being seen everywhere all the time. I don’t know if I want that.”

She better get used to the added exposure. The new season of “American Idol” kicks off on January 16-17 on Fox.
