R&B singer Nivea has claimed that she was not drinking and driving when she was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving.

The ex-wife of Lil Wayne had been driving home from the wedding reception of Weezy’s other ex Toya Carter when she was crashed into a tree in her Mercedes.

The singer was take to Fulton Country Correctional Facility at around 1.30am and even though she had a child in the car, she allegedly shouted at the police officer:

“B****, I could buy your job h**!”

Nivea reportedly had “bloodshot, glassy eyes and smelled like alcohol”, reports TMZ, but the singer claimed that she had only three drinks.

Her excuse for the accident was that she didn’t see yellow crime tape and traffic cones that were dotting around to keep drivers away from the tree which had fallen into the road due to a storm.

Tweeting yesterday, Nivea insisted that she was “doing fine” and thanked her fans.

She also added:

“I NEVER said what ppl r saying I said to/about the cop by the way. Nivea continued: “Its just unfortunate how the Media & Law can be used against you when you don’t know enough about the way they work. Again, thnx 4 all the love.”

To make it clear that she was not under the influence, Nivea also wrote:

“And one more thing, I WAS NOT DRINKING AND DRIVING, the accident was Not due to me being intoxicated. Just wanted to clear that.”
